Relevancy of Nizatidine’s Release from Floating Tablets with Viscosity of Various Cellulose Ethers

چکیده
Nizatidine is a gastroprotective drug with short biological half-life and narrow absorption window. This study aimed at developing floating tablets of nizatidine using various HPMC viscosity grades, namely K4M, E4M, K15 K200M. Directly compressed revealed an excellent uniformity in hardness, thickness weight was evenly distributed within the matrix tablets. Buoyancy lag time as low 18–38 s, remain buoyant for upto 24 h. However, later depended upon grade that higher viscosity, less total time. In vitro dissolution indicated dependent release from K4M E4M based released almost 100% 12 h, whilst polymers such K200M only 81.88% 75.81% drug, respectively. The followed non-Fickian diffusion formulated K200M, super case II transport observed More interestingly, have similar yet exhibited different mechanism. attributed to difference degree substitution methoxyl- hydroxypropoxyl- groups on polymer backbone.

The Effect of HLB on the Release Profile of Atenolol from Ethyl Cellulose-coated Tablets
It is possible to alter the permeability of ethyl cellulose membrane with certain materials such as surfactants. In this study the effect of surfactant concentration and different HLB values on the release rate of atenolol from ethyl cellulose-coated tablets was evaluated. The results showed that when the concentration of surfactant increased, the rate of drug release also increased. The kineti...

This study was performed to design bilayer regioselective floating tablets of atenolol and lovastatin to give immediate release of lovastatin and sustained release of atenolol. Bilayer floating tablets comprised two layers, i.e immediate release and controlled release layers. The immediate release layer comprised sodium starch glycollate as a super disintegrant and the sustained release layer c...
